STAUNTON, VA—The Blackburn Inn has deep roots. Going as far back as 1828, it was designed by master builder Thomas Blackburn. Today, it is breathing new life as a boutique hotel set to open in spring 2018.

STAUNTON – It’s been about five years since the idea first was floated of a new inn taking up residence in the original Western State Hospital at Richmond and Greenville avenues.
But now plans appear to be moving forward to bring life back into a building that was once home to the hospital’s administration.

HENRICO, Va. – – Shagbark, the restaurant of Virginia native and acclaimed chef Walter Bundy, will open on Wednesday, June 29.
Its namesake is taken from a hickory wood that is common regionally, and the wood will be integrated into the décor.
